Hey Guys...
Just thought I'd leave a few thoughts on Vito Rezza. Somebody asked about him back there somewhere.
I have lived in Los Angeles for two and a half years now but I am originally from Toronto, Canada where Veets resides. When I was 17 years old, I had been playing drums on and off for about 4 years. I thought I was pretty good. Then I went to Vito. In one lesson he changed my life and made me realize that I really couldn't play. I left his house and literally cried my eyes out.
From that day forward everything changed. You guys can fill in the blanks.
Vito is an incredibly inspiring teacher and an unbelievable player. In a city where there can tend to be a lot of uninspired performances, Vito's were like my lifeline while I still lived there (sorry, TO cats, I was born and bred there just my opinion).
You can buy his CDs at Audiophile Imports

"Joshua" completely knocked me on my azz the 1st time i heard it. Roberto is hosting the transcription i did (years ago) up to some of the piano solo...i think my brain was fried. but i think i captured some of the tasty / crazy improv & grooves.

Yeah, T; I hear Appice delivered quite a few pizzas to Colaiuta on many of his LA sessions...
...[Carmine brought extra heads, & a pad & pencil for an autograph; word has it that Mr. C suggested a lesson instead...]
[Just a little humor there, guys ]...
Secrets & "Against the Clock" off AH-WT are indeed truly "of the sickness" [that Vinnie posesses]...
Geoff - haven't looked at it [Josh] yet, but - cool that it looks like you have [several] transcription's on Roberto's site
Starr - it was prob I who asked you about Vito - thanx for your last post... will go to API to see if they have samples from his discs... i'm sure he's a great player from what i've heard... another great drummer from CAN....

Cheers Spags and Geoff for pointing us to those transcriptions. That's also one of my favourite albums. Vinnie plays so beautifully on it, creating all the time.
